What’s on at the Empress

Don’t forget the Quiz Monday, 28th May at 8PM in aid of the street party!!!

Both Pubs are selling Burritos, and at the moment outselling the Pizzas. Beef, Chicken and veggie served with Salsa, Guacamole and soured cream. Delicious!

Next Big Money Quiz is Tuesday, July 10th with Bingoand Play your cards right, like of the telly, Moet or Monster Munch. Be there for 8PM, £2.50 entrance. Remember maximum 6 per team.

Since our good friend Winston died of cancer we have had a bucket on the bar collecting your spare change for Cancer Research, so far we have raised around £800 and will continue to support Cancer Research with our Christmas draw this year. Thank you for your support.

Hemingford Road is planning to hold a Street Party this year on Saturday 14 July to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics. The party will run from 3pm to 8pm and there will be food, drink, entertainment and music for both adults and children. We hope this event will bring together Romsey residents and increase the community spirit in the neighbourhood as well as being an enjoyable and fun event. The wife and I will be going and showing our support and giving out some Romsey town T-shirts for the kids and of course having a pint. So when this is finished the Empress has a beer festival and BBQ we hope very much the weather is nice, we will have 10/12 guest beers also all your favourites such as Timothy Taylor, Tribute, Doombar, JHB. The Beer fest will start on the evening of Thursday 12th July running through ‘til Sunday evening the 15th July. The BBQ will be all homemade burgers including vegetarian all made by Rob our amazing Italian chef, and the sausages from woodfordes farm, Children are welcome.

BOY or GIRL Enas wants a girl, I want a boy; the due date is the 13th of August, please don’t expect to be served very quickly on that day, just for fun and celebration if you guess the correct weight of the baby you will win a bottle of champagne and all you can drink for the night for 2 of you with us at the Empress. Enas will even pay for your taxi home, so pop in and rub her belly and guess the weight. The baby will be half Jordanian half English but we are not struggling for names, Winston for a boy, Judy for a girl.

Dave’s a big kid; he's only gone and bought a pinball machine for the pub, he thinks he’s a teenager again, but I bet you lot will play it more than he does.

Tuesday 10th July 2012!

It's that time again - the Big Money Quiz!

Tuesday 7th February! Same great quiz, same great quizmasters, same great sandwiches...much more money. £250 first prize, £100 second prize and a round of drinks for the teams who are third and third-from-last - or 'antepenultimate', if you've been swotting up.

Bingo at half time with a round of drinks to be won, as well as the classic Empress conundrum: Moet or Monster Munch? One lucky punter also gets to have a go at the £1000 Play your Cards Right, and if they don't win it, up to nine more people having a go for £100. PLEASE WIN IT! Dave is getting unbearable and we need you to shut him up.

Entry for the Big Money Quiz is £2.50 a head. With so many chances to win it all back and a great evening to be had, why wouldn't you?

Important Announcement re: theemperorpub.com

The webmaster of theemperorpub.com and the pub have parted company. It is unfortunate that the former webmaster has taken it upon himself to take down the website and replace it with his own content. The current content on theemperorpub.com is not the view or opinion of the management of The Emperor, The Empress or the management. We are disappointed at the direction the webmaster has taken and have put the matter in the hands of Cambridgeshire Police.
